NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans released wide receiver David Patten on Thursday.
The 34-year-old Patten had 11 catches for 162 yards and a touchdown in five games last season. In 2007, he had 54 catches for 792 yards and three touchdowns.
Patten signed with the New York Giants in 1997. He moved to the Cleveland Browns in 2000 and played with the New England Patriots from 2001-04. In 2002, he had 61 receptions for 824 yards and five touchdowns.
He played two years for the Washington Redskins before joining the Saints.
