The New Orleans Saints lost another starting cornerback to injury when Tracy Porter was helped off the field with an apparent left knee injury during the third quarter of Sunday's 28-23 win over the St. Louis Rams.
Porter was hurt when he tripped over a teammate on a St. Louis reception. After being helped to the sideline, Porter was carted off the field.
The Times-Picayune reported Porter sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on Monday.
The unbeaten Saints opened the game without their other starting cornerback, Jabari Greer, who has a groin injury. Safety Darren Sharper (knee) also was among the inactives.
