The New Orleans Saints have signed second-round draft pick Stanley Jean-Baptiste to a four-year contract, the team announced Saturday.
With a 6-foot-3 frame and impressive vertical ability, Ryan will be looking to use Jean-Baptiste's size to take on a division chock-full of tall wide receivers. Jean-Baptiste had the best vertical jump (41.5 inches) among cornerbacks at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.
The Saints significantly shored up their secondary in the offseason by signing perennial Pro Bowl safety Jairus Byrd. The team also added veteran Champ Bailey to their personnel to play alongside returning starter Keenan Lewis.
With Kenny Vaccaro returning from a fractured ankle and set to play a more defined role in Year 2, Sean Payton's Saints outfit should be primed to make a run at the NFC South title.
