Seahawks coach Pete Carroll expects both running back Thomas Rawls and tight end Jimmy Graham, two key pieces to the Seattle's offense in 2016, to be ready for Week 1.
"I absolutely think that," Carroll said, via the team's official website. "They would have to incur some issues that we can't foresee right now for that not to happen."
Graham is recovering from a torn patellar tendon, suffered last season in Week 12. The knee injury is infamously difficult to return from. Rawls broke his ankle in Week 14. Neither participated in mandatory minicamp this week.
Both are likely candidates to open training camp on the PUP list, but Carroll was confident in their readiness by September.
"They both have made great progress," Carroll said. "Whether it's the first day of camp or not, or it's PUP or whatever, we're going to have to wait and see how these six weeks play out. It's a really important six weeks because these guys are in good enough shape now that they can get in shape. They've worked their way back in the rehab process, and now they're preparing to really push ahead."
