Sharrif Floyd confident he can become an NFL great

I knew about Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd's athleticism and quick first step. I had no idea about everything Floyd overcame on his way toward being a potential top draft pick.

I had no clue Floyd was abused for years by a man who he thought was his father, only to find out that his father was murdered when Floyd was 3 years old. I didn't know about the bond Floyd had with his grandmother or all the people who helped Floyd get to where he is.

"I think with more experience, more technique, I can be one of the greats," Floyd told Darlington about his NFL future. "And that's my goal -- to leave this game as one of the greats. And probably sometime down the line, to be looked at as a legend."

Read Floyd's story and you'll realize the young man already is legendary to so many around him. Knowing that backstory makes him easy to root for on draft day.
