Steelers linebacker James Harrison underwent back surgery for the second time in the last nine days and will require four weeks to heal, his agent, Bill Parise, told the *Pittsburgh Post-Gazette* on Wednesday.
The newspaper reported that team neurosurgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon performed the operation one week after Harrison underwent a procedure to remove a piece of a herniated disk off a bothersome nerve.
"It's nothing in any shape or form that is significant," Parise told the Post-Gazette. "It's probably a better recovery now because we got a better result now."
Harrison later stated on his Facebook page that "it's back to 6 weeks of down time instead of 5," according to the newspaper.
Harrison's initial surgery was delayed one week when he came down with a fever.
Harrison, 32, started every game for the Steelers in an All-Pro season. He finished with 100 tackles, 10.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and two interceptions.
