As expected, Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley will not play Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
The team later confirmed that Woodley is inactive.
Woodley has been out with a hamstring injury since the Steelers' Week 8 victory over the New England Patriots and has been pushing to return to the field this week. NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported earlier this week that the Steelers weren't counting on Woodley to play against the Chiefs, though they don't believe the linebacker will miss an extended amount of time.
Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is active after missing the Steelers' last two game with a knee injury.
The rest of the Steelers' inactives included quarterback Dennis Dixon, linebackers Stevenson Sylvester Stevenson, offenstive tackle Jamon Meredith, defensive end Al Woods, defensive tackle Chris Hoke and wide receiver Arnaz Battle.
Among the Chiefs inactives is quarterback Kyle Orton, who was claimed off waivers from the Denver Broncos on Wednesday. Also inactive for Kansas City were tight end Jake O'Connell, guard Ryan Lilja, defensive end Brandon Bair, defensive tackle Jerrell Powe, linebacker Demorrio Williams and defensive back Donald Washington.
