You'd think the green room at the NFL draft would be a cool place to hang out, but I found it to be a cauldron of anxiety during my short visit Thursday night.
Waiting is the hardest part. And for six of the 26 players invited to New York for the festivities, their wait has extended into Day 2.
As a New York resident, I enjoy my only home game of the year. I take pride in being at Radio City to the bitter end Saturday.
Hopefully these players won't suffer the same fate and will be allowed to leave the building sooner than later Friday night. Our ranking of the six players left:
1. Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill: There are rumors that teams are trying to trade up for Hill. We think he'd be a perfect fit for the St. Louis Rams at No. 33.
2. Georgia guard Cordy Glenn: He was Mike Mayock's No. 25 overall player. The massive former Bulldog offers position flexibility and great value.
UPDATE: Glenn will not be at Radio City during the second round of the draft, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.
3. Alabama LB Courtney Upshaw: There were wildly divergent opinions on Upshaw during the pre-draft process. Teams ultimately didn't see him as a blue-chip player.
4. LSU wide receiver Rueben Randle: He plays a lot of faster than his timed speed. The gap between Randle and the top receivers in this draft isn't so great.
5. Stanford tight end Coby Fleener: It's not a shock he lasted until Round 2. It's still a good bet that he will be the first tight end taken.
6. Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still: He was projected to go in the first round for much of the pre-draft process. Still might be ranked last here, but we don't believe he will last long Friday night. (Bucky Brooks agrees).
While the draft always is full of surprises, we'd be stunned if any of these players last until Round 3. They might all be taken in the next 15 picks.
