- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is day-to-day with a minor soft tissue injury and isn’t practicing Sunday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported. The issue is considered minor and the team is being cautious to ensure its franchise QB is good to go for the season, Rapoport added. Wentz, of course, has battled injuries his whole career and was unable to finish three of his four seasons. Rapoport later reported, via an informed source, that 2020 first-round pick Jalen Reagor left practice early with a shoulder injury. The severity is unknown at this time, he added, but the team believes it's not serious. Still, the speedy receiver will undergo tests to be sure and determine the full extent of the ailment.
- Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp suffered a low-ankle sprain in Saturday's scrimmage and likely won’t practice much this week if at all, per Rapoport. The injury is considered minor and wouldn't keep him out of a game if the Rams were playing this week, Rapoport added.
- Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James is likely to miss significant time with a meniscus injury he suffered during Sunday's practice, per Rapoport.
- Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said defensive end Myles Garrett didn't practice Sunday out of "an abundance of caution" for a wrist injury, NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported. Cleveland waived center Casey Dunn and wide receiver Damion Willis.
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bringing in kickers Ryan Succop and Cody Parkey for workouts Monday, according to Rapoport. Matt Gay, who made 27 of 35 field goals last year as a rookie, is currently in line to be the starter. Cornerback Carlton Davis, injured in a scrimmage Friday, was out of pads Sunday and working on the side, NFL Network's James Palmer reported. Bucs coach Bruce Arians' initial thought was that his condition was not serious. Running back Ronald Jones was practicing in full pads, per Palmer. Two days ago he had ice on his left foot during Friday’s scrimmage.
- The New York Jets are doing an MRI on rookie running back La'Mical Perine after he injured his ankle in a scrimmage, Rapoport reported. The early word on Perine is he has a sprain, Rapoport added. Coach Adam Gase has praised the play of the fourth-rounder, as he works behind Le'Veon Bell and Frank Gore. The Jets claimed Browns wide receiver C.J. Montgomery.
- After going down with a knee injury last week, San Francisco 49ers receiver J.J. Nelson has been placed on injured reserve, Rapoport reported, with the team later announcing. Rapoport added that the team will likely reach an injury settlement to clear him off the books after discovering he'll be out for more than four weeks. Nelson will now hit the free agent market again after signing with the club on Aug. 15. The team re-signed defensive end Alex Barrett and waived guard Kofi Amichia and tight end Erik Swoope.
- The Arizona Cardinals have released undrafted rookies tight end Ryan Becker, offensive lineman Steven Gonzalez, cornerback Zane Lewis and defensive lineman Adam Shuler.
- The Broncos have agreed to terms on an undisclosed deal with veteran linebacker Mark Barron. Barron played last season with the Steelers and was a first-round pick by the Buccaneers in 2012. Denver claimed Saints offensive tackle Darrin Paulo.
- The Seattle Seahawks signed linebacker Pita Taumoepenu and placed defensive end Branden Jackson and defensive end Eli Mencer on injured reserve. Seattle coach Pete Carroll told reporters that Jackson, who was knocked out in a practice and hospitalized, will miss the season on the advice of doctors and that his future playing beyond missing this year is unknown. Carroll also told reporters that cornerback Tre Flowers missed Sunday's practice with a "slightly" sprained ankle. The Seahawks are also expected to sign former Cowboys receiver Lance Lenoir, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.
- The Pittsburgh Steelers signed receiver DeAndre Thompkins and released cornerback Alexander Myres and tight end Dax Raymond.
- The Tennessee Titans are hosting workouts for kickers Stephen Hauschka and Stephen Gostkowski.
- Quarterbacks Jake Rudock, Kyle Sloter and Kyle Lauletta are working out for the Atlanta Falcons.
- The New York Giants waived defensive back Christian Angulo and running back Javon Leake.
- The Carolina Panthers placed defensive back Derrek Thomas on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
- The New Orleans Saints placed defensive tackle Jalen Dalton on injured reserve and running back Dwayne Washington on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
- Dallas Cowboys safety Xavier Woods sustained a strained groin on Sunday, but NFL Network's Jane Slater reported it's not considered serious. Wide receiver Ventell Bryant also sustained an injury, Slater reported, but Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said of both injuries that they were "not of high concern."
