The Tennessee Titans went into the offseason hoping to upgrade the interior of their offensive line. Signing Steve Hutchinson should help, but an injury to starting center Eugene Amano will set this group back.
Titans coach Mike Munchak announced Saturday that Amano will miss the season after suffering a torn triceps. Fernando Velasco will take over for Amano, according to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean.
The Titans' quarterback battle rightfully has taken up much of the spotlight in training camp, but the offensive line and a rejuvenated Chris Johnsonultimately might matter more to the team's success.
Amano's injury certainly won't help. He has started at least 13 games for the Titans in each of the last four years.
UPDATE: The Titans announced later Saturday that they had signed lineman Chris Morris, a five-year NFL veteran with 51 games under his belt.
