- Xavien Howard is back in Miami. The Pro Bowl cornerback was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 and active/physically unable to perform lists on Thursday. Howard had been on the COVID list since Aug. 11. The Dolphins also also signed defensive end Avery Moss and waived cornerback Picasso Nelson Jr. and center Donell Stanley.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Chris Godwin is at practice in full pads after just viewing practice each of the last two practices, NFL Network's James Palmer reported. The Bucs signed center A.Q. Shipley.
- The Browns signed center Jon Toth, per the wire. They’d been in the market for interior help with J.C. Tretter sidelined. Cleveland placed defensive end Curtis Weaver on injured reserve.
- Chicago Bears starting running back David Montgomery, who went down in practice yesterday with a groin injury, is expected to be out 2-4 weeks, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source. That gives him a chance of being on the field for the opener vs. the Detroit Lions.
- Dallas Cowboys tackle Mitch Hyatt left practice on a cart after injuring what looked like his right knee during individual drills, NFL Network's Jane Slater reported. This took place roughly 15 minutes into practice, Slater added.
- The Steelers signed linebacker Jayrone Elliott, who was with the team for five games last season. Pittsburgh also signed long snapper Liam McCullough and released wide receiver Anthony Johnson and linebacker Leo Lewis.
- Bengals running back Joe Mixon -- who hasn’t practiced in recent days and wasn’t spotted on the field Wednesday -- has been dealing with migraines, Pelissero reported. There is optimism he’ll be back soon, with contract talks ongoing, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero added. Cincinnati released kicker Tristan Vizcaino, per the wire.
- Detroit Lions running backs D'Andre Swift and Bo Scarbrough did not practice Thursday. Detroit is working out former Browns and Packers quarterback DeShone Kizer, per Pelissero. The Lions signed defensive end Kevin Wilkins and released defensive tackle Olive Sagapolu, per the wire.
- Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs will not practice Thursday as he's dealing with a bit of lower back soreness that the team is monitoring. The team announced the release of kicker Stephen Hauschka and punter Lachlan Edwards on Thursday.
- The Tennessee Titans announced they have agreed to terms with linebacker Will Compton. They released linebacker Khaylan Kearse-Thomas and running back Cameron Scarlett, per the wire.
- The Broncos released long snapper Wes Farnsworth, per the wire. Free-agent linebacker Mark Barron is visiting Denver, Rapoport reported.
- The San Francisco 49ers announced they have signed wideouts River Cracraft and Kevin White to one-year deals. They released wide receiver Jaron Brown and defensive end Jonathan Kongbo, per the wire.
- After trading for Dolphins running back Kalen Ballage, the New York Jets released running back Pete Guerriero and removed cornerback Bryce Hall from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
- The Seattle Seahawks are working out quarterback Kyle Sloter and receiver Justin Hardy, per Pelissero.
- The Kansas City Chiefs signed center Daniel Kilgore and waived/injured linebacker Emmanuel Smith, per the wire.
- The New York Giants signed running back Tavien Feaster and released wide receiver Tony Brown, per the wire.
- The Arizona Cardinals released defensive back B.W. Webb, per the wire.
- The Minnesota Vikings released defensive back Brian Cole, per the wire.
