The Tennessee Titans' passing game has its work cut out for it Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Marvin Lewis' defense has stymied Joe Flacco's Baltimore Ravens and Matt Ryan's Atlanta Falcons in the first two weeks. Those two teams have averaged 39.7 points in the three other games they've played in 2014. The Bengals held them to 16 and 10 points, respectively.
Last week Titans quarterback Jake Lockerstruggled mightilyagainst the Dallas Cowboys. Tennessee coach Ken Whisenhunt said he needs to see his receivers fight more this week to help his quarterback.
"They are going into a physical game,'' Whisenhunt said, per The Tennessean. "This defensive secondary plays physical with the receivers, and they have to understand they have to be disciplined in their routes, they have to battle for the ball when it comes their way. ... We didn't play the way we wanted to last week, so this is a chance to get on the field again and do a little better."
Whisenhunt said he'd like to see more from second-year pro Justin Hunter, per The Tennessean. The coaching staff has challenged Hunter several times this year -- most .
"Justin is a talented, young receiver, and I think that is part of it, being young,'' Whisenhunt said. "He has made strides since he has been with us and I think he'll continue to do that. I think that is part of the process of growing up in the NFL."
