Jake Locker is officially questionable for Sunday.
Tennessee Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt told reporters that his starting quarterback's progress in Friday's practice was an encouraging step forward after Locker sat out all week with a wrist injury. Two days before rolling into Indianapolis to face the Colts, it's anyone's guess if Locker will be ready to go.
Locker was limited in Friday's session. Unless the team is confident that the fourth-year passer is ready to roll, the Titans are a strong candidate to lean on flowing-haired backup Charlie Whitehurst.
For what it's worth, longtime Titans scribe Jim Wyatt doesn't see Locker suiting up:
Locker's setback is the latest in a laundry list of injuries that have limited the one-time first-round pick to just 21 starts since 2011. Locker's tantalizing athleticism has been undermined by his skittish accuracy and inability to stay on the field. He couldn't be under more pressure to impress a coaching staff that inherited him -- and a front office that lost enough patience in Locker last season to consider making a run at Jay Cutler.
