FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts -- Peyton Manning no longer has the best audible in football.
Early on in the Patriots' 20-13 win over the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Tom Brady appeared to switch a run from the left side of the formation to the right side.
His code?
"REX RYAN!"
There was no mistaking the words, which can be seen in the video above. A few moments later, Brady was seen clapping in the face of Bills safety Corey Graham after Graham planted the quarterback into the ground on a blitz. Brady, though, got the completion.
After the game, Ryan said he was unaware of the Brady audible, but didn't seem surprised by it.
"He was calling my name?" Ryan said. "He likes me, I know that."
This was clearly a big game for Ryan, but maybe we're underestimating the emotion of Brady coming into this one. At the least, we could be underestimating Bill Belichick's macabre sense of humor.
