Richardson said Wednesday he felt ready to play in Week 1 after his full week of practice since undergoing a scope on his left knee on Aug. 9.
Linebacker Scott Fujita did not play after having his previous three-game suspension overturned Friday by an appeals panel. Team sources had said the linebacker was unlikely to play Sunday.
Fujita had been suspended for his alleged involvement in the New Orleans Saints' "bounty" program.
The 10-year pro suffered a lower left leg injury in the Browns' preseason opener against the Detroit Lions and missed the ensuing three games. He did not practice with the Browns the past week as part of the terms of his suspension.
