The San Diego Chargers will be without star tight end Antonio Gates on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a league source.
Gates is dealing with foot issues, nothing new for the tight end who missed six of the final eight games last season with a similar problem. The seven-time Pro Bowler also dealt with a foot injury in 2008.
Gates had seven catches for 84 yards in San Diego's season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, but was held without a catch last week against the Patriots.
Veteran Randy McMichael is likely to get the start in place of Gates.
Bob Sanders is also out for the Chargers, as expected.
