- Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green is expected to return to practice Wednesday, coach Zac Taylor said during his appearance on Inside Training Camp Live. The team later announced the signings of free agent center Frederick Mauigoa and defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie. In corresponding moves, receiver Damion Willis and guard Clay Cordasco were waived.
- The Philadelphia Eagles signed free-agent tight end Tyrone Swoopes and waive/injured receiver Robert Davis. Swoopes spent the last three years with the Seahawks. - The New York Jets announced they have signed running back Pete Guerriero and waived safety Anthony Cioffi. Linebacker Tarell Basham suffered an ankle injury in practice Tuesday. Wide receiver Breshad Perriman (knee) is expected to return to practice Saturday.

- The San Francisco 49ers announced their signing of tight end Erik Swoope. San Francisco also waived running back Salvon Ahmed. The team also held workouts Tuesday for receivers with familiar names on tap. Among them are former Raiders and Steelers WR Johnny Holton, former Bears first rounder Kevin White, former Broncos WR River Cracraft and former Falcons WR Justin Hardy, Rapoport and Pelissero reported, per sources informed.

The Browns also placed safety Grant Delpit on injured reserve. The fellow rookie is out for the year with a torn Achilles. Another problem in the defensive backfield could exist with starting cornerback Greedy Williams, who injured his shoulder. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Williams is still being evaluated.
- Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Mike Pennel has been suspended for the first two games of the season, Pelissero reported Tuesday via the waiver wire. The suspension is for violating the NFL policy on substances of abuse, Pelissero reported. Pennel played eight games for the Super Bowl champions last year with no starts.
- Defensive end Joel Heath, who was previously cut by the Denver Broncos, was reinstated to the team’s roster and placed on the reserve/opt-out list, Pelissero reported.
- Cornerback Shakial Taylor, who was previously cut by the New York Giants, was reinstated to the team’s roster and subsequently placed on the reserve/opt-out list, per Pelissero. The additions of Taylor and Heath bring the list of NFL players opting out to 69. Pelissero added that both players opted out the same day they were cut and thus get to collect the stipend/salary advance.
