UCLA cornerback Ishmael Adams was arrested Sunday on suspicion of robbery on campus, according to the UCLA Police Department.
One of the top cornerbacks in the Pac-12, Adams was taken into custody early Sunday morning for allegedly using force to take a cellphone from an Uber driver and bail was set at $100,000, per police. ESPN reported that Adams was released Tuesday morning and has a Sept. 22 court date.
UCLA reportedly issued the following statement:
Adams, a two-year starter, returned two interceptions for touchdowns last season and was also UCLA's top return specialist in handling both punts and kickoffs. He averaged nearly 10 yards per punt return, and broke a 100-yard kickoff return against Arizona State for a touchdown.
