UCLA LB Anthony Barr believes he should be draft's top pick

UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr joined Jadeveon Clowney and Johnny Manziel as elite football prospects making a case for themselves as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Asked to put himself in the shoes of an NFL general manager for an evaluation of himself, Barr wasn't shy.

"I think it's simple. He's the best player available in this year's draft. He's going to help our team win games, potentially championships. But he's also more than a football player," Barr told Fox Sports Daily at snappytv.com. "He's a good character, somebody you can trust. So I just think all those things combined make me the perfect package."

Barr is considered among the top three linebackers available in the draft, along with Buffalo's Khalil Mack and Alabama's C.J. Mosley. But with all speculation on the Houston Texans' No. 1 overall pick being spent on either South Carolina's Clowney or a quarterback, it would be more than a mild surprise if Barr's name came off the board before anyone else's.

Clowney told College Football 24/7 why he should be the No. 1 pick last week. Manziel did the same in extensive interviews from his training facility in San Diego.
