CFB 24/7 is unveiling its choices for the Mount Rushmores -- top 4 all-time NFL players -- from 10 top college football programs. The 10 were chosen based on the total number of NFL players produced by the school. The series continues with the USC Trojans.
Carved into USC's Mount Rushmore:
» Ronnie Lott
» Anthony Munoz
» Bruce Matthews
» Marcus Allen
Why those four? Lott was the driving force on defense for four Super Bowl-winning San Francisco 49ers teams. Lott earned All-Pro honors at three different positions (cornerback, free safety and strong safety) and twice led the NFL in interceptions (1986 and 1991). Lott was named to the NFL's all-1980s and all-1990s team. He also was selected to the 75th anniversary all-time team. ... Munoz was the dominant offensive tackle of his era. In 13 NFL seasons, Munoz made the Pro Bowl 11 consecutive times and earned a spot on the NFL's 75th anniversary team. ... Matthews is one of three Matthews family members to excel at USC (Clay Matthews Jr. and Clay Matthews III are the others). Bruce played in the NFL for 19 seasons, and earned 14 consecutive Pro Bowl selections. ... Allen -- the 1981 Heisman Trophy winner -- capped the Los Angeles Raiders' win in Super Bowl XVIII with a 74-yard touchdown run. Allen was also the NFL's MVP in 1985.
