USC WR Marqise Lee day-to-day with bone bruise in shoulder

LOS ANGELES -- USC wide receiver Marqise Lee is day-to-day with a bone bruise in his shoulder, head coach Lane Kiffin said Saturday night.

"He should be back very soon," Kiffin said.

Lee was injured Friday afternoon after landing hard on his right shoulder while making a catch in practice.

The news comes with a huge sigh of relief for the Trojans, as Lee has been absolutely dominant during his two seasons in college. Lee won the Biletnikoff Award last season as the nation's top wide receiver and was a unanimous All-American after posting 118 receptions, setting new school and Pac-12 single-season records for catches, 1,721 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

Kiffin compared the favorable report on Lee's availability to finding his wallet after fearing it was lost.

"You're really right back to where you started, but you feel good about it," Kiffin said. "We were excited last night."

Kiffin said he would not scale back the amount of repetitions Lee, who plays as fearlessly in practice as he does during games, would see during fall camp.

"He still has got to get a lot of work," Kiffin said. "We've got to make sure we are not relying on his athletic ability to take over, and we are still putting him in a lot of situations so that he can continue to improve as a receiver."
