In a tightly contested Sunday night game, two big names went down.
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis suffered an ankle injury in the second half and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of his team's 28-20 loss to the Chicago Bears. Davis was seen on crutches in the Niners' locker room following the game, per CSN Bay Area.
Davis last injured his ankle during the 2010 season, and his role in the 49ers' offense is an important one.
On the opposite sideline sat Charles Tillman.
The Bears' veteran cornerback affectionately known as "Peanut" suffered an arm injury after shoving wide receiver Michael Crabtree in the third quarter of Sunday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers. After sideline examination, it was revealed that Tillman injured his right triceps. Tillman's reaction wasn't encouraging.
Tillman tore his right triceps in 2013, resulting in his placement on injured reserve. He was seen jogging back to the locker room late in the third quarter at Levi's Stadium.
