In a perfect world for Vince Young, he plays lights out on Friday, proves he's the man for the backup quarterback job in Buffalo, and perhaps puts a bug in Chan Gailey's ear if Ryan Fitzpatrick were to struggle.
A guy can dream, can't he?
"I would love to play the whole game," Young told The Associated Press, referring to the Buffalo Bills' matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. "But whatever snaps (coach) will give me, I'll take advantage of that."
Young admits he's not fully comfortable with the Bills' offense, now three months after he signed with the team as a free agent. He said he's "still not relaxed," though more reps in practice and in game situations could help him.
The clock is ticking. Young's no lock for a spot on Buffalo's final roster, as he continues a competition for the backup role against Tyler Thigpen. The loser of that battle will likely be shown the door.
Meanwhile, the stakes for Young go beyond the football field. It surfaced on Thursday that a judge has ordered Young to pay back $1.7 million from a loan he took out during the NFL lockout.
Young signed a one-year deal worth nearly $2 million in May. It sounds like he could use every penny of it.
