TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner has a torn ligament in his left elbow, an MRI revealed.
The injury will not require surgery, team spokesman Mark Dalton said, and Warner could resume practicing as early as Wednesday. The club does not know when he might return to the lineup.
Warner was hurt on a sack by Carolina's Julius Peppers in a 25-10 loss to the Panthers on Sunday. Warner was making his first start of the season in place of Matt Leinart, lost for the season with a broken collarbone.
Tim Rattay is scheduled to start at quarterback on Sunday at Washington.
