Last week was a quiet one for injuries. That wasn't the case this week. Plenty of names big and small were among the walking wounded:
- Robert Griffin III left the Washington Redskins' 24-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons with a concussion. We refuse to call any concussion mild. The rookie quarterback expressed some optimism about playing next week after the game. The Redskins, meanwhile, could get in trouble for their injury reporting during the game.
- Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel suffered a head injury in a 9-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Chiefs fans cheered. Ugh.

will re-air the Indianapolis Colts' emotional 30-27 win over the Green Bay Packers from Week 5 on Tuesday, October 9 at 8 p.m. ET.
- The Green Bay Packers lost three key starters in a wild 30-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Tight end Jermichael Finley (shoulder), defensive tackle B.J. Raji (ankle) and running back Cedric Benson (foot) all were hurt. Finley's injury looks the least serious. He's optimistic he'll play next week. Benson left the building in a walking boot. Raji will undergo an MRI exam Monday morning on the left ankle he injured in Sunday's loss, a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL Network's Steve Wyche. No significant damage is expected, according to the source.
- The return of Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu didn't last long. He re-injured his calf early in a 16-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Linebacker LaMarr Woodley also hurt his right hamstring.
- Cincinnati Bengals running back Bernard Scott hurt his knee during a 17-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins. There is possible anterior cruciate ligament damage and fear he could be out for the season, according to reports. The Bengals will have to lean heavily on BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
- Tennessee Titans backup running back Javon Ringer was carted off the field with a knee injury in a 30-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. It appeared he might have torn some ligaments. It was not pretty.
- Colts defensive end Robert Mathis hurt his knee and did not return against the Packers.
- New York Giants running back Andre Brown suffered a concussion in a 41-27 victory over the Cleveland Browns and did not return.
