Wells active for Cardinals in Week 8 matchup vs. Ravens

Beanie Wells will be on the field for the Arizona Cardinalswhen they face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt had classified Wells' status as a game-time decision Friday, and he said the running back was "progressing" in his recovery from a bone bruise in his right knee. Wells practiced on a limited basis this week and had been listed as questionable.

Tight end Todd Heap is inactive for Arizona, costing the veteran a chance to play against his former team. Heap, who played 10 seasons in Baltimore, will miss his third consecutive game with a hamstring injury. Jeff King will start in his place at tight end.

The Cardinals also put linebacker Joey Porter (knee) and safety Kerry Rhodes (foot) on the inactive list. Porter was to be replaced by Sam Acho, and Rashad Johnson started for Rhodes.

Baltimore's inactives included wide receiver Lee Evans (ankle) and guard Ben Grubbs (toe). Evans has played in just two games this season, and Grubbs has been out since the opener.
