When the Jaguars snatched up Myles Jack with 36th overall pick in the draft, the belief among Jaguars fans was that the vastly talented linebacker would play right away.
That hasn't been the case, though, with the former UCLA star logging a paltry 16 defensive snaps over the first three games of the season. All that action came in a Week 2 wipeout loss to the Chargers, with Jack not even seeing the field in the opener against Green Bay or last Sunday against the Ravens.
Fielding plenty of questions about why Jack isn't playing, coach Gus Bradley made it clear the Jaguars are searching for ways to get the rookie involved -- even if that means a position switch.
With veteran Paul Posluszny still lodged at middle linebacker, Bradley revealed that Jack has seen work in practice at the Otto, or strong-side linebacker, position.
"He understands that those guys in front of him are playing well, but we've got to find a way to get him on the grass," said defensive coordinator Todd Wash. "I don't think anything's top-secret. I just think there are other positions he can play on our defense besides (middle) and (weak-side linebacker)."
The Jaguars have issues on both sides of the ball, but this isn't a team afraid to play rookies. We've seen Blake Bortles, Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns and first-rounder Jalen Ramsey all contribute in their first NFL campaigns. One way or another, Jack will see action.
