NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, per a source who has seen the deal, that the 'Boys have signed No. 16 overall pick Zack Martin to a four-year, $8.7 million contract with a $4.8 million signing bonus. The team later officially announced the signing.

Rookie defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence remains the only Cowboys draft pick without a deal.

Martin will be remembered by some as the player team owner and general manager Jerry Jones chose over Johnny Manziel. The lineman hits Dallas with a Q Rating nowhere near JFF's, but Martin gives the Cowboys a plug-and-play blocker set to open his career at guard.

The former Notre Dame tackle lined up inside with the first unit during organized team activities and also saw snaps at center.

Dallas is no stranger to curious team-building maneuvers under Jones, but the Cowboys have been intentional about fortifying a suddenly potent O-line that also houses fellow first-rounders Tyron Smith (2011) and Travis Frederick (2013).
