Christian Huang
Christian Huang is the co-founder of Mobilize Love, a nonprofit that provides for the community by deploying a fleet of trucks directly to where children and families are to deliver mobile human services and mobile after-school programs. After a business career, Christian decided to pursue his passion of giving back to the community where he grew up. He noticed that the youth in his community, specifically the Tenderloin in San Francisco, did not have access to the resources and support they so desperately needed. He left his job in corporate America and became the Executive Director of San Francisco City Impact and then the Executive Director of CityTeam. In 2017, he co-founded Mobilize Love in San Francisco and has created multiple programs that give back through their mission of meeting physical needs, teaching personal life skills, and establishing a faithful presence in the community.
Through Christian's leadership, Mobilize Love has grown from providing one laundry truck to serve the community to a fleet of six trucks that all serve different purposes. Each truck provides a unique way to give back and provide for local youth and their families. For example, the Stage Truck runs their flagship mobile kids program, ML KIDS. This high energy weekly kids program from the Stage Truck includes music, drama, games, prizes, and an empowering message of hope that is so often hard to come by. The Stage Truck teaches kids personal life skills and Social Emotional Learning lessons. The Stories Truck is a mobile library truck that tackles the literacy crisis among children in underserved communities. The Distribution Truck helps deliver much needed household goods, hygiene products, school supplies, and other seasonal goods that low-income families need. Each year, the Distribution Truck distributes hundreds of thousands of dollars of brand-new goods directly to low-income families to help them in their fight to make ends meet. They also have both a food truck and refrigerated truck which are vital components of the food relief efforts in the communities they serve by providing nutritious food that kids and families need to thrive. Christian's commitment to serving others never wavers and he continues to find innovative ways to grow the number of people Mobilize Love can help.
