Patricia Thompson
Patricia Thompson has been a dedicated resident, worker, and volunteer in Brooklyn's East New York community for more than 40 years. As an educator with the NYC Department of Education and Brooklyn Community Services (BCS), she has taught three generations of East New York residents at P.S. 306. Ms. Thompson is a beloved member of the school community, who fully commits to assignments, projects, and causes that improve the lives of children, families, and community members. She enthusiastically volunteers at the school's annual Back to School Bash and as a chaperone for the Jets Shopping Spree and game outings.
Ms. Thompson is very involved with community organizations such as BCS. She leveraged her voice and influence in the community to advocate for the BCS afterschool program at P.S. 306. She is also a pillar in her local house of worship, which she has been connected to for more than 20 years. Ms. Thompson often volunteers to distribute food to community members in need and has personally funded church projects and events to ensure that they are successful and enjoyable to the people being served.
Ms. Thompson is extremely creative, with a talent for drawing and painting, which she teaches to students in the afterschool program. Her patience, kindness, and empathy have impacted the lives of many students and families. She has been a firm yet nurturing force, always inspiring students to do their best and strive for success.
