Christie Kuhns

Christie Kuhns is the President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio, where she leads efforts to help Black people and historically underserved communities achieve social parity, economic self-reliance, and justice. Under her leadership, the organization works to create lasting opportunities for empowerment and change.

Christie began her career in leadership at a small not-for-profit before attending law school at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. She practiced law at a major law firm and a Fortune 500 company before transitioning to public service. In 2015, she was elected as an Ohio State Representative for the 32nd District in the 131st General Assembly. She then served in the healthcare sector as Vice President of Operations and Community Relations at UC Health, and as Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer.

Throughout her career, Christie has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Jeffrey Hurwitz Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award from the University of Cincinnati, a "Forty Under 40" honor from the Cincinnati Business Courier, and recognition as one of the "100 Rising Stars in the Nation" by The Business Journals. She has also received the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus President's Award and was named one of the Region's Most Powerful Business Leaders by Cincinnati Magazine.

A dedicated volunteer, Christie has served on numerous boards, including the Major League Baseball (MLB) Cincinnati Reds Diversity Advisory Board, the Ohio Poverty Law Center, and the YWCA Board of Directors. She is also Vice Chair of the Library Foundation of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and serves on the board of Bethesda, Inc.

Christie Kuhns continues to be a trusted leader in both the corporate and community spheres, working tirelessly to promote equity, access, and opportunity for all.
