Gideon's Promise

Criminal Justice Reform

Gideon's Promise is building a public defender movement to amplify the voice of impacted communities and transform criminal justice.

Grant Partner Since: 2019

NFL Funding Supports:

  • Gideon's Promise programming including expanding their mentoring program for public defenders, providing virtual training software, providing stipends for the program's faculty, and enhancing its racial equity training to address the current needs of its participants.
  • Providing public defenders access to resource materials that allow them to secure the release of incarcerated people who are high risk if they contract COVID-19, as well as support for the needs of public defenders, the essential workers of the criminal justice system.
  • Building a community of passionate public defenders driving public defense reform and a next generation to raise the standard of representation every day in courthouses across the United States.
