BLAKE FERGUSON, LONG SNAPPER
Inspired by his WWII Navy veteran great grandfather and his Air Force veteran best friend, Blake Ferguson has fostered a deep military appreciation throughout his life. Since the Miami Dolphins drafted him in 2020, Blake immediately dedicated his time, energy and involvement to team military initiatives. He jumped at opportunities not only to participate, but also to lead. In 2021 and 2022, Blake hosted his annual military appreciation barbecue event to honor active-duty military members and veterans in South Florida during Salute to Service. In partnership with United Way of Broward County's Mission United, Blake distributed 800 Thanksgiving meals to Broward County's military veterans and active reserve members. He also attended the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami flag football game between officers and enlisted and visited the air station later in 2022. He supports the Miami Dolphins TAPS families and continues to seek every avenue to support the United States military from team and individual opportunities to messages of encouragement through social and digital media. In the 2023 offseason, Blake was invited to visit Fort Jackson to learn more about the Basic Combat Training Experience and immerse himself in day-to-day life while connecting with those on base. To kick off this season, Blake welcomed Veterans with Wounded Warrior Project to a VIP day at training camp and later surprised an Air Force Veteran with a brand-new air-conditioning unit to thank her for her service and visited the Florida Department of Veterans Nursing Home.
