Kelly Kennedy
In addition to being a lifelong Chiefs fan, Kelly Kennedy has held season tickets for over 29 years. Born and raised in the Kansas City area, Kelly has cultivated a community of fans who not only gather before every game but also make a positive impact within the community.
For the past 28 years, Kelly has worked as an elementary teacher in Haysville, Kansas. Additionally, he has served as a high school swim coach for 38 years. In 2013, he co-founded "Swim To A Wish," a community fundraiser for Make-A-Wish of Missouri and Kansas.
What is "Swim to a Wish"? This 100-mile relay consists of five swimmers who each swim 20 times, with each leg of the relay covering one mile. The relay is continuous throughout an exciting weekend of giving back to the community. Swimmers can receive flat donations, or they can receive donations per mile. In 2013, during their inaugural year, Swim to a Wish raised over $5,700. To date, this event has raised over $250,000 for Make-A-Wish of Missouri and Kansas.
Kelly has been a positive influence not only in Chiefs Kingdom but also in the lives of those all around him. As he always says, "If life piddles in your pool, just add chlorine and keep swimming.
