Megan Stefanski
Megan Stefanski is a lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions, with her passion for the team inspired by her father, Donnie "Yooperman" Stefanski. For over a decade, Megan has made the remarkable journey of driving nearly 700 miles and 10 hours round trip from her home in Michigan's Upper Peninsula to watch the Lions each gameday at Ford Field. In addition to her home game attendance, she travels to every away game and organizes events for the team's fans on the road to get together the night before each game, further fostering a sense of camaraderie among Lions fans nationwide.
Known for her fun and inclusive tailgates, Megan hosts weekly gatherings at Detroit's Eastern Market, welcoming all fans to join with a donation to Hospice of the EUP (Eastern Upper Peninsula). Each summer, she also organizes a charity event at her family's bar and grill, Yooperman's, to benefit Hospice of the EUP, drawing in Lions fans and supporters from across the state. This year, the event raised an impressive $30,000 in just one weekend, and she aims to raise an additional $20,000 this season through her donation-based tailgates. Last year, she raised a remarkable total of $37,000 for Hospice of the EUP, demonstrating her dedication to making a meaningful impact. Megan is also a member of Pro Football's Ultimate Fan Association and the Tailgating Hall of Fame, and she is the author of a children's book about being a Fan of Fans, called "Yooperman's Pride - Football is Family".
Megan is honored to be recognized as the Detroit Lions' 2024 Fan of the Year, proudly carrying on her family's legacy in honor of her late father, while also making a significant positive impact in the lives of those in need. Her unwavering dedication to the team and the community exemplifies the spirit of Lions fandom."
