Sam Hubbard is 3rd in sacks amongst players from the 2018 Draft class. Sam leads all defensive ends from the 2018 Draft class in total tackles and leads the team in sacks in 2019. Sam was second in tackles among edge rushers in 2020 and first in tackles among edge rushers in 2019.

Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts this Year

Sam officially launched the Sam Hubbard Foundation, which is helping the people of Ohio combat hunger by providing vulnerable children and families with educational, medical, and athletic resources. Sam hosted his first foundation event at the Fowling Warehouse, with all proceeds going towards community impact in the hunger space. This year, Sam also hosted his annual youth football camp. In November, Sam will be hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive. In December, Sam will be hosting a group of kids for a "Shop with the Pros" night. Also, in December, Sam will be launching his "Ohio Fed" campaign with Homage to benefit the Freestore Foodbank. Additionally, Sam worked to surprise Hudson Lee via the Karen Wellington Foundation.

Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts in Years Past

Sam planned, executed, and launched his COVID-19 fundraiser via GoFundMe, which went on to raise over $85,000, providing 250,000 meals for Cincinnati's Freestore Foodbank. Sam also hosted his annual Aquafina Youth Football Camp in 2019. The camp raised over $20,000 for local non-profits. Sam also created the Sam Hubbard Scholarship Fund at Moeller High School.

Demonstrates Consistency in Positive Character and Models a Lifestyle of Giving Back

Sam was elected as a team captain in 2021. Sam spoke at Moeller High School both schoolwide and to the football team about his journey and what being a Man of Moeller means to him. When Sam first got to the NFL, he called an HR Director at Pepsi to put in a good word on behalf of a former college teammate. The HR director called his agent and said that it was the first time he's ever had a player do that. Sam also has a passion for environmental sustainability, and it's something he hopes can become a part of his foundation in the future. Sam's mother is a nursing supervisor at UC Health, where his sister is employed. They were both on the front lines during COVID-19
