Demonstrates Excellence on the Field

Resilience is a quality that can be ascribed to Atlanta Falcons running back Mike Davis both on and off the field. During his NFL tenure, Mike has spent time on five different teams. Tasked with learning a new playbook and coaching staff, Mike has become a front runner and leader for the running back group. As a leader in the locker room, Mike has started all six games for Atlanta this season, with 214 yards and one touchdown scored.

Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts this Year

In the spring of 2021, Mike returned home to Atlanta to play for the Falcons. Mike hit the ground running and quickly began serving the community he knew from his childhood. Mike's passions begin with pouring into the youth of the Atlanta community. He knows that the children are our hope for the future.

Through his foundation, The Mike Davis Foundation of Hope, Mike hosted a free youth football camp for over 200 kids on the Westside of Atlanta this past summer. Mike recently described the feeling of being in a position to give back in his neighborhood by saying, "It's been a great feeling this whole time – ever since the Falcons signed me, especially with the way the community embraced me and how much I'm able to give back to the community. I just want to say thank you to everybody. I'm grateful, and I can't wait to do more."

And do more is what he did. Soon after, Mike hosted a back-to-school shopping event at Walmart for local youth in need of school supplies. Working with three different YMCAs in the Atlanta area, Mike had a mission to make sure the students were prepared and ready for the upcoming school year, free of cost to them. In addition to his offseason events, Mike's wheels are constantly turning on how he can do more. The holidays are a hectic time for everyone but can be trying for those who are less fortunate. Mike and his family plan to host both Thanksgiving and Christmas events in the city of Atlanta to provide peace of mind around those stressful times.

Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts in Years Past

Mike Davis was drafted into the NFL family in 2015. He spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, and the Carolina Panthers before returning to Atlanta with the Falcons. Even though his team moved, Mike knew that at his core, he wanted to give back. At the inception of The Mike Davis Foundation of Hope in 2018, his main goal was to serve families in single-parent households. Mike soon realized his reach could be far greater than that.

Today, his foundation supports college scholarships, free football camps, back-to-school shopping events, Thanksgiving events, and more. Mike Davis says, "I try to help with anything in the community to show them that we have their back. As long as they know that they have someone with them, that's all they need."

Demonstrates Consistency in Positive Character and Models A Lifestyle of Giving Back

Mike Davis demonstrates consistency in positive character in and out of the locker room and on and off the field. Even as a new face in the locker room, he makes it a point to bring smiles to the faces of his teammates and coaches. Mike is the type of teammate to walk through the locker room with a bear costume on just to make everyone smile. He models a lifestyle of giving back in everything he does, and he made that clear as soon as he signed with the Falcons.

"I told the community relations team whatever they need from me, just let me know! I'm in!" No matter what, Mike isn't concerned about himself but how he can help impact those around him.
