Tyler Lockett is a two-time Pro Bowler and three-time AP All-Pro as a return specialist. He was named the 2021 Steve Largent Award winner, given to the player who best exemplifies the spirit, dedication, and integrity of the Seahawks. Tyler was the 2021 Seahawks nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award and the 2021 Art Rooney NFL Sportsmanship Award. Named a 2022 Team Captain. Tyler ranks second in franchise history with 49 receiving touchdowns, third with 6,665 receiving yards and third with 500 receptions. Also ranks second with 1,078 punt return yards and fourth with 3,188 kickoff return yards. His 17 career 100-yard games ranks third in franchise history and his 11,196 combined yards trail only Hall of Famer Steve Largent's 13,396 in franchise history. In 2021, he set career-high with 1,175 receiving yards, becoming the second player in franchise history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in three-consecutive seasons. He was the seventh player in franchise history to record at least 1,100 receiving yards in a season and finished the season with 73 receptions, fifth-most on Seattle's all-time single-season receptions list, marking the third-consecutive season of 70-plus catches. Also became the fourth player since 1990 to record multiple touchdown receptions of at least 60 yards in his team's first two games of a season. Established the franchise record with 100 receptions in 2020, topping his previous career high of 82 set in 2019. He became the second player in NFL history (Hall of Famer Gale Sayers) with at least five receiving touchdowns, a kickoff return touchdown and a punt return touchdown in a single-season (2015), and his 1,915 combined yards gained were the fourth-most combined yards gained in a single-season in franchise history and the franchise rookie-record, and his 139 punt return yards are the most punt return yards in a single-game in franchise history (at Arizona, 1/3/16).
Dedication & Commitment to Community Efforts This Year:
Tyler Lockett's impact in the community has spread from the Seattle area to Kansas where he attended college and all the way to his hometown Oklahoma. Through his Light It Up Foundation, Tyler continues to improve the lives of others through a variety of programs and initiatives. He supports many different types of communities through his charitable work including the Black community, kids, students, youth sports, homelessness, domestic violence victims and many more. This year, through his Job Shadow Program, Tyler hosted 12 Tulsa Public School students who had the opportunity to participate in a three-day job shadow event with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Keller Williams Realty and Seahawks. Participating students were each awarded a $5,000 scholarship, for a total of $60,000 in scholarships. Tyler brought awareness to Black Wall Street through 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre video that won a Sports Emmy Award in 2022. Tyler also donated three Wall Street portraits to the three remaining survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre. To create visibility for African American achievements in Oklahoma, 16 bookmarks were created and sold with the proceeds benefiting Black-owned companies in Tulsa. $5,000 was awarded to the Oklahoma Eagle Newspaper and $1,250 was awarded to the Fulton Street Bookstore. Through Tyler's Youth Sports Leadership Initiative, he identifies youth sports organizations that could excel and benefit from the donation of clothing, funding and leadership principles. This year, Tyler identified three organizations in Oklahoma that received $18,000 in Adidas uniforms and funding to support their sport. In 2022, more than $2,500 worth of clothing, shoes and food were donated by the Light It Up Foundation to the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless. The Tulsa Day Center serves those who are experiencing or at risk for homelessness. Through their work, they treat both the symptoms and the causes of homelessness pursuing a future where every Tulsan has a home. During the holidays, Tyler identified twelve families for thanksgiving and over 40 children in need during Christmas to receive holiday food baskets, gift cards and Christmas gifts. Since 2017, Tyler Lockett has hosted a Youth Football ProCamp in Seattle and Oklahoma. Over the two-day camp, more than 300 youth receive skill training from Tyler and other coaches including on instruction, including lectures, fundamental football skills stations, contests, and non-contact games in a high energy, fun, and positive environment with cleanliness and sanitation measures in place.

From the moment Tyler Lockett joined the Seahawks in 2015, his spirit of giving back to his community has been a part of his everyday life. He has made an incredible impact in a variety of communities across our country. Tyler was nominated for the Man of the Year in 2021, and continues to be a leader in the community receiving the team's nomination two years in a row. In 2021 alone, Tyler donated over $100K worth of cash and items to a variety of causes and initiatives including his College Scholarship Program, Youth Sports Leadership Initiative, technology donation to Kansas State Athletics Department, Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless donations, Domestic Violence Intervention Services and many more. Tyler has a passion for supporting the Black Community and advancing efforts in Social Justice and Racial Equality. Tyler used his platform in a variety of ways throughout 2020, encouraging everyone to use their voice and vote in the election. He recorded a variety of videos including Celebrating Resilience during Black History Month, promotion of a documentary called Black Boys and the reading of his poem, Reality vs. Perception. Tyler has supported a variety of Seahawks Community Engagement efforts supporting youth in our community including speaking at a variety of Character Playbook events, encouraging youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs through the Game Changers program, and providing joy to Make a Wish kids. He makes appearances at schools throughout each year, even surprising some kids virtually during the pandemic. Tyler participates in My Cause My Cleats each year raising money and awareness for the incredible work of his foundation.

Tyler models a lifestyle of giving back through his consistent charitable giving and teammate mentality. Every community that Tyler has been a part of – Tulsa, Kansas & Seattle – he continues to give back to each of them year after year. Tyler is the ultimate teammate not just on the field but off the of field. He has built incredible relationships in our community with not just non-profit leaders but with corporate partners as well. These relationships with companies, like Safeway, Lumen and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, have led to making an even larger impact in the community. In 2021, Tyler received a variety of awards in the community and in the Seahawks organization including Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Nominee, Steve Largent Award Winner and Seattle Sports Star of the Year. Tyler believes that everyone deserves a chance to shine and through the work of his Light It Up Foundation, he creates access for his community to do just that.
