Demonstrates Excellence on the Field

A seventh year NFL veteran, Patrick Mahomes was a benchmark for excellence on the field from the moment he ascended to the starting role prior to the 2018 season. Just a handful of the statistical mountains he's scaled include accumulating 151 passing touchdowns in his first five seasons, trailing only Hall of Famer Dan Marino

(168) for most in a player's first five years, tallying 31 career 300-yard games which is the most in that timeframe, compiling four-consecutive seasons with 4,000+ passing yards, and joining Hall of Famer Peyton Manning as the only two players to have four-consecutive 4,000-yard seasons in their first five seasons in the league. He's accomplished all this despite only playing in one game his rookie year. With his start in Super Bowl LVII, Mahomes became the youngest QB in NFL history to start in three Super Bowls. Mahomes is now a 2-time Super Bowl Champion, a 2-time NFL MVP, and a 2-time Super Bowl MVP.

Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts this Year

His foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, partnered this year with the Boys and Girls Club of America. This season, the foundation is contributing $1,500 for every Mahomes touchdown. It's also making a $1.625 million dollar contribution and a multi-year commitment to support Boys & Girls Clubs of America facility improvements. This contribution will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the communities that have personally impacted Patrick and his wife Brittany, Greater Kansas City and the Texas towns of Lubbock, Tyler, and Whitehouse.

In 2023, the foundation is once again dedicated to its programming, which includes Read for 15, Volunteer for 15, and 15 for 15 initiatives.

Mahomes has continued to combat illiteracy through the foundation's Read for 15 program. 19,500 students have pledged to participate in this initiative, leading to a 12% increase in reading scores by participating schools. Mahomes recently hosted a Read for 15 Rally where nearly 2,400 elementary students from 16 local schools heard from Mahomes about the importance of reading for 15 minutes outside of school daily.

The Foundation has placed a strong emphasis on promoting youth volunteerism through the Volunteer for 15 program. This year, the foundation aims to exceed the 539 youth participants in 2022, which resulted in 12,844 service hours. The goal is to engage over 800 youth, generating more than 15,000 volunteer hours in 2023.

The program's impact has even extended internationally.

Through the 15 for 15 program, groups of 15 have been supported in various ways. The program has sent underserved youth to NFL games, funded adoptions for rescue dogs complete with supplies for their forever homes, supplies for schools, and Camp Home scholarships for youth battling cancer. It has also outfitted youth football teams with equipment and jerseys, covered educational tutorial programs for urban students, funded scholarships for the children of military members, supported Special Olympics athletes, and aided anti-bullying organizations.

Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts in Years Past

Since its creation in 2019, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation has grown and emphasized improving children's lives with a continued focus on supporting health, wellness, and various communities in need of resources. To date, a nearly $3M charitable footprint has been distributed by the Foundation.

There have been multiple seminal moments for Mahomes and his Foundation.

One of the more recent ones took place around the start of the 2021 NFL season. In a ceremony marking the 58th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, Mahomes and his foundation re- dedicated Kansas City's Martin Luther King Jr. Park. This significant moment was facilitated by a $1 million donation from the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation. The funds were directed towards the construction of a playground designed through a series of community engagement meetings, with the goal of celebrating Dr. King and creating an inclusive and accessible space for children of all abilities. In addition, the Foundation continued to donate to help remedy food insecurity. Through partnerships with foodbanks, it has distributed 20,000 meals and activated its annual Thanksgiving basket distributions.

After the murder of George Floyd during the summer of 2020, Mahomes led a contingent of NFL stars to advocate for change. Beginning with his teammates, Mahomes was a vocal leader in a team meeting that summer led by RISE to Vote, encouraging the players and coaches to register in the general election. Likewise, Mahomes shared that message publicly and joined the Chiefs in hosting a combination voter registration/food distribution event that served nearly 6,000 people. Leading into Election Day itself, he also teamed with the Hunt Family Foundation via an Inspire Change grant to turn GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium into the largest polling center in the history of the Kansas City Election Board, serving more than 2,100 voters. The stadium now can now be utilized as a polling center for at least the next 10-12 years.

Demonstrates Consistency in Positive Character and Models a Lifestyle of Giving Back

The communities of Greater Kansas City, Lubbock, Tyler, and Whitehouse have played a pivotal role in Mahomes' life. Mahomes consistently demonstrates his commitment to community events and partnerships. During this year's Training Camp, he fulfilled 10 wishes in collaboration with Make-A-Wish, creating unforgettable experiences for 10 children. Through his foundation, Mahomes actively contributes to these communities and beyond, providing opportunities and experiences for youth and families in need. His efforts span across various issues, encompassing education, health and wellness, housing, literacy, cancer, mentorship, childcare, animal protection, and social justice.
