Demonstrates Excellence on the Field
Alec Ingold is one of the league's best fullbacks and a key part of one of the NFL's top-rated offenses. The versatile weapon sees the field on 38.7 percent of Miami's offensive snaps. That usage rate is second among all NFL fullbacks. As of the time of writing, his usage and versatility have contributed to Miami leading the NFL in scoring offense (31.7 points per game), total offense (435.3 yards per game), and passing offense (287.4 yards per game).
This year, he was elected captain by his teammates and played in all nine games with eight starts. Assisted by Ingold, the Dolphins were on pace to accumulate 7,400 yards of offense through nine games this season, approaching the NFL record of 7,474 set by the 2011 New Orleans Saints. Remarkably, within just nine games, Miami has already achieved three of its top 10 all-time single-game yardage totals. In addition to his blocking prowess, Ingold has caught five passes for 63 yards (12.6 avg.) through nine games in 2023. His 12.6 yards per reception is the highest mark of his career so far.
Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts this Year
In his second season with the Miami Dolphins and fifth in the NFL, Ingold has effectively expanded his impact across the country with a concentration in his immediate South Florida community.
Through the Ingold Family Foundation, Ingold helps people discover the best possible versions of themselves. To further his foundation's mission, he strategizes and orchestrates his own programing, events, and partnerships with a special focus on children in the adoption and foster care communities. In 2023, he has led "Mindset" panels in partnership with Lululemon, connecting with community members by sharing his journey through his own adoption story and adversities. He also partnered with Children's Home Society of Florida to host a free summer camp for youth who are in foster care
or have been adopted. Ingold actively interacted with the kids during the camp, establishing connections with the students and identifying similarities in their journeys.
Ingold constantly uses his voice to help and inspire others. For the Coconut Creek Police Department's "Do the Right Thing" initiative, which recognizes local youth for exemplary behavior, he delivered a speech and served as a guest judge for a poetry slam. He also delivered a testimony talk for God Behind Bars, the commencement speech for 2023 Miami- Dade College graduates, a motivational speech for the Miami Edison youth lacrosse program, and hosted a Mental Health Mastery panel. At the Junior Dolphins Coaches Clinic, Ingold went beyond on-field activities, interacting with over 500 local youth football coaches. He emphasized the importance of their impact in their players' lives and generously gifted participants with a copy of his book, "The Seven Crucibles."
Throughout the season, on his off days, Ingold dedicates his time to the youth in the community, engaging in various events in Broward and Miami-Dade County. Notably, he surprised the South Broward High School football team by delivering football gear and equipment. Additionally, he visited STEM students of the S.E.E.K Foundation at Bunche Park in Miami Gardens, Fla., actively participating as they learned to build and code Lego robots. Ingold also emphasizes mental health in his community work, providing mindset coaching to four college athletes across the country.
Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts in Years Past
From the moment Ingold landed in Miami, he immersed himself and embraced the South Florida community as his own. One of the initial events he spearheaded was in support of over 100 youth at Miami Southridge Senior High School. The event provided backpacks and school supplies, ensuring students were well-equipped for success in the 2022 school year.
In 2022, Ingold established the Ingold Family Foundation to cultivate environments of inspiration and motivation, connecting youth with community leaders and fostering an ecosystem of excellence. Through his foundation, he devotes his time to help local youth transform their dreams into tangible goals. Ingold specifically organized the Money Minicamp program, aiming to improve financial literacy in schools within underprivileged communities. Furthermore, he dedicated his time to supporting youth who are at risk of aging out of foster care.
During the Thanksgiving holiday, he continued to pour into the local community through the organization's Thanksgiving meal distribution where he connected with local families as he loaded their vehicles with meal boxes complete with turkeys, fresh produce, and sides.
Ingold has collaborated with Air Pros USA to donate a brand-new air-conditioning unit to a local Pembroke Pines family. Additionally, he has personally fostered and adopted three children and received a nomination from His House Children's Home, a local Miami Gardens nonprofit specializing in child welfare services, including foster care and adoption.
His work has earned the recognition of multiple national organizations including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI). His efforts have also been previously recognized by the Las Vegas Raiders, as he was their 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee.
Demonstrates Consistency in Positive Character and Models a Lifestyle of Giving Back
Throughout his career, Ingold has demonstrated that every interaction can be an opportunity for positive impact. Through his foundation, Ingold champions a variety of initiatives that he envisions as pathways to success and empowerment, including youth mentorship, mental health advocacy, physical education, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. He has found purpose in his own adoption story to advocate for local youth in foster care and adoption communities. He recognizes the value of a support system in his own life and dedicates his efforts to providing that for others. Outside of his community efforts, Ingold purposefully seeks to uplift everyone he encounters including teammates, coaches, staff members, and family.
