EXCELLENCE ON THE FIELD
Widely regarded as one of the NFL's top slot cornerbacks, Moore has built an impressive resume since joining the Colts off waivers prior to the start of the 2017 season. Moore is a true do-it-all defender - he's one of four active players in the NFL with at least 500 tackles, 15 interceptions, and 10 sacks, and is one of seven cornerbacks in NFL history to hit those statistical benchmarks. The Colts have, for years, leaned on Moore's physicality and ability to bring down opposing running backs like a linebacker while also playing sticky coverage as a cornerback, affording multiple defensive coordinators valuable flexibility in personnel and scheme. Moore is a playmaker, too – he has four defensive touchdowns, including two pick-sixes in a game in 2023. Voted a team captain in each of the last three years, Moore – an undrafted free agent in 2017 who's earned two contract extensions in his career – is a
respected leader in the Colts' locker room, where he remains a shining example to teammates of how hard work, dedication, and toughness can pay off. "It all comes down to his toughness, his grittiness he plays with," head coach Shane Steichen said.
POSITIVE CHARACTER & A LIFESTYLE OF GIVING BACK
Moore has, for years, been a pillar in the communities of Indianapolis and Valdosta. With the creation of his Love1 Foundation in 2022, he has made an intentional effort to not only expand the impact he can make, but also make it increasingly meaningful. Moore is one of the Colts' most consistent presences for "Community Tuesday" events, committing his free time and energy during the season to better the lives of those around him. Moore has also carried on the legacy of Mighty Mason with pediatric cancer research, treatment, and care. Moore's dedication to community efforts, both in Indianapolis and Valdosta, are the product of who he authentically is as a person. He doesn't just provide money; he shows up, understanding the positive impact he can make by showing how much he cares. And those closest to him see his efforts not being done for social media clout or positive press, but out of a genuine desire to use his platform and resources to make a real impact on the lives of those in the communities he calls home. The best way to encapsulate a two-time Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee is that he'd be pouring himself into efforts and initiatives to impact his community whether he was in the NFL or not; but because he's in the NFL, he understands his platform and is consistently striving to use it to help others. Moore's actions stand as an inspiration not only to his teammates, but to anyone who's looking for ways to serve the place they call home.
DEDICATION & COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY EFFORTS
THIS YEAR
When his hometown of Valdosta, Georgia was devastated by Hurricane Helene earlier this year, Moore immediately sprang into action. Through his Love One Foundation, he partnered with Nick Harden, a restaurant owner in Valdosta, to provide roughly 13,000 free meals to residents and first responders within a week of the storm upending the lives of those in the southern Georgia city. "Whenever we need him, he's right there," Harden said. "He steps up. And we're so thankful for his giving spirit." Through his Love One Foundation, Moore hosted his seventh annual free youth football camp in Valdosta, which was attended by several teammates, including Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and 2023 Colts Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Zaire Franklin. Moore also hosted the Love1 Celebrity Softball Game, which was attended by several current and former teammates, including 2022 Colts Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Shaquille Leonard. In Indianapolis, Moore is a pillar in community efforts across the city. He's a fixture of the Colts' "Community Tuesday" events across the city, giving back on his only day off, and has hosted several children battling illnesses on gamedays. Moore also hosted a "Hoops for Kids" event to support A Kid Again, and he celebrated single moms in a special Mother's Day celebration event this year. Moore and his Love One Foundation began a partnership this year with Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, where Moore makes frequent visits and provides support to keep kids in grades 7-12 school locked into their education. He hosted a back-to-school event this summer, was an honorary captain for a Cardinal Ritter football game, and has been a fixture around the school's campus over the last few months. "Just him being around and kids being able to connect and see that he's a real human being — that we may see him on Sundays but here, he is in our schools maybe some of that will rub off on them," Cardinal Ritter football coach Levar Johnson said in an interview with WRTV in Indianapolis. Moore also participated in a panel for Kicking the Stigma, the Irsay family initiative supporting mental health awareness, research, and treatment.
IN YEARS PAST
Moore's passion for providing support, resources and happiness to underserved children led him to create the Love One Foundation in 2022, with his efforts targeted in his hometown of Valdosta and his adopted hometown of Indianapolis. In 2018, Moore met "Mighty" Mason Garvey, a seven-year-old battling Stage 4 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. He developed a deep friendship with Mason, visiting him over 40 times at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, playing video games and hanging out with him to bring happiness and normalcy during his treatment. Moore also brought Mason and his family – who Moore remains extremely close with to this day – to an Indiana Pacers games. And in 2019, Moore ran out of the tunnel at Lucas Oil Stadium with Mason before the Colts played the Denver Broncos. As Mason endured grueling treatments and eventually entered pediatric hospice care, Moore's genuine love for and friendship with Mason was a bright light for the Garvey family. The image of Moore and Mason running on the field together, with Mason leaving his problems, worries, and sickness behind him while sharing that moment with his friend, is an incredibly powerful one. Moore and his foundation work closely with several organizations in Indianapolis, including A Kid Again, which provides children battling pediatric cancer cost-free and recurring opportunities to experience the joy of being a kid amidst their ongoing treatment. Moore has served on the board of A Kid Again since 2020 and supports the Mighty Mason Fund for Palliative Care as well. In 2020, Moore raised $20,000 for the fund through a gaming tournament. Supporting children in foster care is another emphasis of Moore's Love One Foundation. In 2023, the Love One Foundation created the Kenny Moore Birthday Club, which offers foster kids, who aren't always afforded an opportunity to celebrate their birthdays, with a gift and a cake on their birthday. Moore's foundation has also worked with Firefly to donate coats and shoes to foster kids. In 2023, after Hurricane Idalia damaged Valdosta and knocked out power across the city, Moore contributed $10,000 to provide meals to residents. Moore also contributed $12,500 in 2019 to Reach Georgia, a needs-based scholarship and mentoring program that serves 134 schools in his home state. Moore, too, is a visible and consistent supporter of Kicking the Stigma, providing vulnerable and meaningful insight into his own mental health journey.
