James Palmer joined NFL Media in 2015 as a national reporter and is featured during key events such as the Super Bowl, NFL Draft and the NFL Combine. On a daily basis Palmer and can be seen on numerous programs on NFL Network, including Good Morning Football, NFL Total Access and NFL Gameday Morning. Palmer also appears on the NFL+ platform, as well as providing written content on NFL.com.
Previously Palmer was a beat reporter covering the Houston Texans for Comcast Sportsnet Houston. The Philadelphia native received an Emmy Award for his coverage, as well as multiple nominations during his three years in Houston. Prior to Houston, Palmer covered the SEC in Atlanta for Comcast Sports Southeast, filing reporters from across the region as well as hosting nightly studio shows. During his time in Atlanta, Palmer covered everything from the Masters, the NCAA Tournament, the UFC, and Olympians.
Palmer's career started at the Mountain West Sports Network in Denver. There he covered the Air Force Academy, Colorado State and Wyoming athletics as a reporter. Palmer also has an expansive producing background that includes time with Inside the NBA on TNT, live studio shows and live sporting events.
A 2005 and 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University, Palmer earned a B.A. in Communications and a B.S. in Education. He currently resides in Denver, CO with his wife Meg, son Nixon and their dog Hank.
