- New coach Chip Kelly doesn't want any more quarterback depth chart questions. That's fair until training camp starts. Vick says he's matured and that he understands "what it takes to compete," but the real takeaway from these organized team activities: Nick Foles has a legitimate chance to beat out Vick.
- Look for Kelly to continue his mixing and matching of roles in the regular season. In many ways, this first year is about finding what players on the current roster truly fit what Kelly wants. It's hard to imagine both DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin being back in 2014 considering their contracts.
- The Eagles are more unsettled than the rest of the NFC East. The secondary is totally new and could be a complete disaster. But this is not a rebuilding team. Kelly probably believes he can contend in a watered down division right away, and he's right. There's more than enough talent here to compete.
- There aren't a lot of teams deeper on offense than Philadelphia. LeSean McCoy, Bryce Brown and Felix Jones make a terrific three-pack at running back. The offensive line is as talented as any group in the NFL. James Casey essentially is the team's third tight end. At wide receiver, the team has plenty of depth too.
Our takeaway: Kelly should be able to send waves of players at opposing defenses, along with his new playbook.
