Agent says fine of Falcons CB Robinson cut from $40K to $25K

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Dunta Robinson's agent said Monday that the NFL has reduced the fine it levied on the Atlanta Falcons' cornerback to $25,000 for a hit on Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.

Jason Chayut said Robinson's original fine of $40,000 for leading with his helmet while crashing into Maclin was cut following an appeal. The play occurred during the Falcons' 35-31 victory over the Eagles on Sept. 18.

Chayut said the appeal was filed because Robinson didn't believe the fine "was appropriate."

It's the second consecutive year that Robinson has received a reduced fine. He was ordered to pay $50,000 last year for his hit on Philadelphia's DeSean Jackson that left both players with concussions. That fine also was reduced to $25,000.
