Last year at this time, the New York Giants were shifting into overdrive on a journey that would end with the hoisting of the Lombardi Trophy. Heading into Sunday's game with the Atlanta Falcons, Big Blue simply wants its playmakers back.
Jenny Vrentas of The Star-Ledger reported that running back Ahmad Bradshaw was held out of Thursday's practice with the knee sprain he suffered in a Week 14 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Bradshaw hasn't practiced this week and coach Tom Coughlin won't give a timetable for the starter's return. It comes at an ugly time for fantasy owners housing Bradshaw on their rosters, but it opens the door for rookie David Wilson to play a major role against the Falcons if Bradshaw's status doesn't improve.
Hakeem Nicks was limited in practice with the nagging knee injury the receiver has battled through all season. His availability suggests he'll be ready for the Falcons. Nicks practiced only once before suiting up against the Saints and managed to haul in four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.
