Alabama adds former USC coach Sarkisian as offensive analyst

Just a few days removed from walloping them at Cowboys Stadium, Alabama has added USC's former head coach Steve Sarkisian to its staff.

Alabama coach Nick Saban confirmed Monday that Sarkisian is joining his staff as an offensive analyst.

Sarkisian was fired last October after a number of issues arose during his tenure.

In August 2015, Sarkisian embarrassed himself by making a speech while impaired at a booster function, prompting then-athletic director Pat Haden to insist he enter a treatment program. Sarkisian later that season arrived for team meetings one Sunday unable to work, prompting USC to place him on leave and later fire him.

Sarkisian went 12-6 at USC in one-plus season there after going 34-29 at Washington over five seasons.

Sarkisian joins an Alabama coaching staff that includes another former Trojan head coach in Lane Kiffin.
