Demonstrates Excellence on The Field
Firmly established as starter at fullback, Alec Ingold holds the distinction of registering the first Raiders' touchdown in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on a 3-yard reception from QB Derek Carr in the 2020 home opener versus New Orleans on September 21.
Alec is in his second season with the Raiders after joining the Silver and Black as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2019. He was named a Pro Bowl alternate at fullback in his first NFL campaign after appearing in 16 games with three starts and serving as a lead blocker for fellow rookie RB Josh Jacobs, who become the first rookie in franchise history rush for 1,000 yards.
The Green Bay, Wisconsin native played four years at University of Wisconsin, where he played in 51 games scored 17 touchdowns. He participated in the 2019 Reese's Senior Bowl, where he was coached by the Raiders' staff on the North team.
Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts this Year
Prior to Election Day, Alec led a call to encourage voting, participating in a "Get Out and Vote" campaign. He supported Special Olympics athletes from Nevada and California as they participated in a "Virtual Fall Sports & Fitness" workout and a Q&A. Alec discussed personal finances with a group of Las Vegas high school students who are part of the UNLV Young Executive Scholars (YES) Hospitality & Tourism Program. Alec spearheaded a fundraising activity to support the Three-Square Food Bank's Coronavirus Emergency Food Fund, which resulted in over 31,000 healthy meals going directly to vulnerable Las Vegas populations such as children, seniors, veterans and furloughed workers. At the onset of the pandemic, Alec recorded a workout video that was posted online to promote physical and mental health. Alec began 2020 serving and sharing in nutritious meals with first and second grade students at Jack Dailey Elementary, a Title 1 School, in Las Vegas, highlighting the importance of fueling up for a successful school day.
Alec stays close to his Green Bay roots and was looking forward to giving back to his hometown. He planned to host a free football camp at his high school last summer that was rescheduled due to the pandemic.
Demonstrates Dedication and Commitment to Community Efforts in Years Past
In 2019, Less than 24 hours after the Raiders' regular season opening win over Denver, and on his first off day after making the roster, he led over 100 students from Oakland's Futures and CUES at Lockwood Elementary School through various stretch routines and football drills while also promoting the NFL PLAY 60 message of being active for 60 minutes every day and to empower the next generation of youth to be the most physically active and healthy. He then joined with 80 students from Davis Street Family Resource Center at Roosevelt Elementary School in San Leandro in a Birthday Book Bash to promote literacy.
During the Raiders' international trip to London in 2019, Alec joined several teammates and Alumni in visiting the Royal Air Force Mildenhall Base in Suffolk, England to meet and support the troops stationed there. The group engaged with active duty service members and their families, passed out Raiders hats, posed for pictures and signed autographs at the Community Center.
At the end of the week in London and the day before the game versus Chicago, he took time to welcome families of fallen heroes from the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to the team's walkthrough practice session. He joined his position group in representing the name of a different fallen hero on the back of his jersey and after practice met with the families to sign autographs and take pictures.
Alec volunteered at the Alameda County Community Food Bank's Mobile Pantry, where he sorted and distributed food to low-income families in San Leandro. The Mobile Pantry truck visits dozens of neighborhood schools, parks and wellness centers each month. Filled with healthy staples and fresh produce, the truck provides a free farmers market that is open to all families.
Demonstrates Consistency in Positive Character and Models a Lifestyle of Giving Back
Alec took on an initiative that was very personal. He was adopted at birth and announced his partnership with AdoptUSKids to help spread awareness about the need for foster and adoptive families. He will be involved with several campaigns including Adoption Month and a Las Vegas television station series called "Wednesday Child," which features local children available for fostering or adoption. He is also working with the Department of Family Services Clark County on social meeting postings to raise awareness for their foster and adoption programs.
Alec utilized the power of social media to institute a motivational series titled "Mindset Monday" that he posted on Instagram. Posts supported by video included: "Run YOUR Race. Take ownership of where you're headed in life!" In another, he noted, "Believe in your vision! Be different." Ingold also posted, "Maximize your impact on the people around you. Everyone has a legacy, what will yours be?"
At the University of Wisconsin, he was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten athlete and studied finance. Alec, who is also currently working on his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, secured a job at Oracle if he did not make the final roster. Not only did he make the roster, he made an impact both on and off the field for the Raiders, where he started games as a rookie, contributed on special teams and continues to be among the most active players in the community.
His positive character and leadership showed during this past offseason when he was among the players who safely gathered for socially distanced workouts this summer in Las Vegas during record heat levels. The Las Vegas are proud to nominate Alec Ingold as their Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee.
