Andre Johnson was not happy with the direction the Houston Texans were headed in earlier this summer during his standoff.
When Johnson finally relented, ending his holdout before training camp, the receiver cited the rapport he built with new head coach Bill O'Brien and how the coach sold his program.
Johnson caught six passes for 93 yards in the Texans' win over the Washington Redskins in the season opener. This week the wideout told NFL Media's Albert Breer that he appreciates the hard-nosed coach.
"Definitely more blunt; he's gonna tell you what it is, he doesn't care who you are, and he's gonna show you what you're doing wrong," Johnson said. "It's good to have that, because no one gets treated special. If I go out there and mess up, he's gonna let me know. That's cool, though. I like that."
Johnson added he likes how O'Brien moves him around and utilizes him in all three receiver spots to allow him better matchups.
On Sunday, Johnson will face a remade Raiders defense -- a unit he's tortured in the past. In last season's matchup Johnson went off against the Raiders for 10 receptions for 116 yards.
Johnson has put up consistent, Hall of Fame numbers throughout his 12-year career. He's off to another good start in 2014. More importantly, after an offseason of discontent he's once again happy in Houston.
