Arizona State honors Pat Tillman with unveiling of practice jersey

Arizona State kicked off its partnership with adidas on Wednesday by honoring the late Pat Tillman with the debut of the football team's new practice jersey.

Tillman, who played for the Sun Devils before being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 1998, left the NFL to enlist in the Army in 2002. He died while serving as a soldier in Afghanistan in 2004. Tillman was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart and Silver Star. The Cardinals dedicated an area outside of University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., as "Pat Tillman Freedom Plaza" in 2006, and it includes a 500-pound, 8-foot tall bronze statue of Tillman.
