It took less than two weeks after kicker Eddy Pineiro, who has committed to Alabama, posted video of a 73-yard field goal to social media for the feat to be topped.
Baylor kicker Spencer Evans posted the clip above to his Twitter feed, showing what appears to be a 75-yard field goal.
Matt Prater, then with the Denver Broncos, set the NFL record with a 64-yarder in 2013. Keep in mind, however, that Prater was kicking with the pressure of a rush and a big crowd, and didn't have the benefit of kicking in a pair of shorts, either.
Nevertheless, Evans' leg is obviously a strong one.
Evans was not named to the Lou Groza Award watch list earlier this week. That's likely because he didn't even kick field goals for the Bears last year, but rather handled kickoff duties. He recorded 16 touchbacks on 91 kickoffs (yes, 91 -- the Bears' offensive scoring machine meant his services were required often).
Next question: Who can hit one from 80 yards out?
